    Meyer Lemons

MeyerleomonThis is our current go to ingredient, especially since they are in most of the markets and not crazy expensive.  I think we end up writing about these wonderful fruits most often when the sun is not shining and the clouds are often filled with icy cold moisture.  These hybrid fruits, thought to be a blend of lemons and Mandarin oranges, add the clarity of lemons with the rounded floral fruitiness of oranges to everything they touch.

Today we were lucky enough to use them in a number of dishes, from re-heatable hollandaise sauce to a fragrant addition to Aki's crab cakes, the ideal dinner.

So go out and find this delectable fruit and enjoy it while it while you can.  The Meyer lemon season, like youthful summer vacations, fades into fond memories entirely too quickly.
